NDIS

The NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. It Is an Australian government program that provides funding and support to people with permanent or significant disability. The scheme is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)

The NDIS helps eligible participants to:

•    Access the supports they need 
•    Build skills and independence 
•    Participate in their community 
•    Achieve their personal goals 
•    Improve their quality of life

NDIS funding can help with:

•    Daily living supports
•    Personal care
•    Community participation 
•    Transport to appointments or activities 
•    Building life skills (cooking, budgeting, cleaning)
•    Therapy and health supports
•    Assistive technology
•    Home modifications
•    Support coordination

To be eligible, a person must:

•    Be under 65 years of age 
•    Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
•    Have a permanent or significant disability that affects daily life

How to become an NDIS participant 

1.    Apply to the NDIA
2.    If approved, you will receive an NDIS plan with funded supports
3.    You can choose any registered or unregistered providers to deliver supports 
4.    You have control over how you use your funding
